The BOB Standard Operating Procedure
Six steps. Every trip. Every orphanage. This is how we make sure every child gets a Bible with their own name written inside — and that no child is missed.
Identify and verify the home
Confirm the orphanage through DIF (Mexico's child welfare agency), a network ministry, or a trusted referral. Record the location, child count, and any known needs before making contact.
Contact leadership
Reach out to the home's director or house mom. Capture names, phone, email, website, and social media. Ask about the ages of the children so the Bible mix is right — Action Bibles for youth, kids' Bibles for younger children, adult Bibles where needed.
Schedule and prepare
Set the delivery date with the home. Check inventory to confirm Bible stock. Pack extras. Bring fine-point permanent markers and gel pens — ballpoint skips on the presentation pages where names are written.
Delivery day — every child writes their name inside
This is the heart of BOB. Every child writes their own name on the presentation page. Leaders help the youngest, or print the name and let the child trace it. Never skip it. Never rush it. Count every name. A Bible with a child's own name is a rare and precious thing in a group home.
Record the same day
Log the delivery before leaving the property: date, Bibles by type, number of children served, names inscribed, team attendees, and donor credit. Same-day logging keeps the record accurate and honors the donors whose generosity made the trip possible.
Return until every child has one — then restock
Partial homes get return trips until every child is served. Homes with new residents move to 'Restock needed' status and receive a top-up trip. No child who arrives after the first delivery is forgotten.
Why the process matters
The SOP exists because consistency is love in action. When every team follows the same steps, every child — in every orphanage, on every trip — gets the same experience: a Bible that is truly theirs, with their name inside it, given by people who came specifically for them.
